San Diego home prices still on the rise

The latest Core Logic real estate tracker report notes that San Diego County home prices are still rising. They reported that the median home price in October 2016 exceeded $500,000 for the first time in ten years. The median price for a San Diego County home hit $507,500, up 11 percent from a year ago. San Diego median home price drops slightly in September

The San Diego Union Tribune is reporting that the San Diego County median home price dropped to $495,000 in September, a drop from August but still strong for a time of year that is typically slow. The August median home price reached $498,000. Congress passes law to significantly reduce barriers to mortgage lending for condominiums

A new law has been passed (H.R. 3700 – the “Housing Opportunity Through Modernization Act”) that will help remove barriers to safe, affordable mortgage lending for condominiums.  A lot of first time home buyers haven’t been able to purchase condominiums because the lending was so strict.
