San Diego Magazine has a great new section called Neighborhood Guide. And guess what neighborhood is featured in the February issue? Fabulous Point Loma! I’ll share the link to their guide at the end, but here are some of my favorites from their list.
–I love heading for Liberty Station for many things, so the opening of Stone Brewery there was just the icing on the cake. Best bet? Hit the bocce ball courts with your friends and a beer. Also, I just noticed they are hosting the 1st annual Bikes & Beer event which looks pretty cool.
–I’ve been going to The Pearl for years, and have even celebrated a few birthdays there. It just has this cool retro vibe and a good crowd of people. The dive-in movies at the pool are fun as well.
–Harbor Town Pub is great. It’s a locals kind of place, everyone feels welcome. And they have the best spicy popcorn ever — you need to try it.
—I totally concur that The Bar Method is THE place to work out in Point Loma. These ladies kick my butt every morning and I would highly recommend them to others.
What’s on their list that I’m planning to try?
–Con Pane bakery in Liberty Station might be my first stop this weekend.
–I’m also going to visit the Fisherman’s Farmers Market on Harbor Drive. I usually head to the OB market so this will be a nice change (just an update, looks like they might be changing from Wednesday to Friday markets, so check their Facebook page).
–Next time I’m on Shelter Island I’m going to Fathom Bistro, Bait, and Tackle. I’ve seen it but never stopped in. It’s sits on a little pier sticking out into the water. Is there possibly a better place to enjoy our February weather? Probably not.
